FELICITA

Palazzo Contarini Polignac
Dorsoduro 874, 30123 Venice

felicita, kupalnocka/gry wodne
A live performance channeling Polish water rituals, diasporic phantasmagoria, and surrealist experimentation. Presented in a new format for Venice, the piece — featuring guitar, electronics, bells, and water — blurs the lines between concert, ritual, and dream, and presents perceptive interactions between musical and atmospheric elements.

felicita is an experimental composer, producer, and multidisciplinary artist. They create rich multidisciplinary worlds and uncover new subjectivities through intensive research, collaboration, and production. Experimentation, mistakism and surrealist techniques are key to their practice, leading to the collision of diverse influences, from Slavic folk-dance to club culture, free improvisation to clowning.

felicita contains several simultaneous pathways, or slowly unspooling threads. One thread explores their personal connection to Poland and its folklore, through a diasporic, queer, and fantastical lens, such as in the dance piece Soft Power. Another thread takes the formal logic of 21st-century pop as its point of departure, creating vibrant, hallucinogenic worlds, such as 2023’s critically-acclaimed album Spalarkle.

felicita has released two solo albums with avant-pop label PC Music. They have performed at Barbican Centre, Kings Place, Luis Vuitton Foundation, Matadero Madrid, Berghain, Unsound Festival, London Contemporary Music Festival, Knockdown Centre, Norberg Festival, Pitchfork Music Festival, Basel Social Club, and others.
