'The Source of Resilience' explored sustainability via myth and permaculture, and the nature/culture dichotomy: how mythology grows from our connection with the land, and how those mythologies relate to, and are informed by, a modern, scientific, philosophical and cultural understanding of the world. Supported by the Arts Council England, the research led to an exhibition and a publication.
The project welcomed you to enter a realm of equilibrium where the human and natural world intersect; through video, drawing, sound and sculptural work Sabina invited her audience to engage with a fictional, infectious agent which ran through the installation, slowly and gradually taking over the exhibition ecosystem.
'The Source of Resilience' was part of a year-long research project, which included Sabina undertaking residencies at Scotswood Community Garden and Abundant Earth Farm, County Durham. Sabina also hosted a series of workshops on “How the Garden Thinks” at NewBridge Project Space and Scotswood Community Garden.
